Designed by Garry Lidgard and built by John Shaw of Pacific Expedition Yachts, the 49' catamaran is a performance-oriented, blue-water cruiser easily handled by a couple. The performance requirement is intended to address efficient passagemaking (high average daily speeds) and safety with weather routing vs. high top-end speed.
Rather than maximizing the use of exotic materials to achieve performance, the design places a typical 40' catamaran layout on nominally 50' hulls
