EMP CEO Tether speaks on E motion hybrid electric drive at IBEX 2007

Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Dave Tether, CEO of Electric Marine Propulsion (dba E motion Hybrids), will be a guest panelist Wednesday Oct 10 at two seminars held at IBEX 2007 in Miami.

Chaired by renowned marine electrical expert Nigel Calder, both panels will explore hybrid-electric propulsion.

Session 107 during the morning slot will debate the fuel-efficiency pros and cons of diesel-electric and hybrid-electric propulsion.

I
n the afternoon, Session 207 will follow with more detail on implementing the systems and discuss other potential benefits of the technology - greater versatility in the utilization of onboard spaces; quieter operation; far more efficient and better integrated whole-boat systems; the elimination of heavy cabling to high-load DC equipment, such as windlasses, bow thrusters, and winches; and the ability to integrate other energy sources into the boat’s propulsion and energy systems.
